The Role
The senior application support role is required to address increased demand for digital product management supporting operational command control and intelligence activities. The role provides short-term support for software applications and artificial intelligence products using a product management approach to deliver scalable user-centric solutions for complex data environments. The resource will provide expert guidance on secure digital product management contribute to user stories use cases and product roadmaps and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between stakeholder needs technology solutions and organizational objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate specifications for emerging technology applications.
- Serve as a user support liaison between vendors information systems technicians and end-user departments.
- Provide training expertise and guidance related to emerging technologies and special application support.
- Emulate or reproduce technical problems encountered by users.
- Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties.
- Recommend and implement complex security requirements.
- Provide business systems network and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties.
- Collect organize and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by others.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of work performed.
- Design configure and deploy server-based file systems and applications.
- Identify research and resolve complex technical problems.
- Recommend new products or processes that support and enhance user group business activities.
- Plan and participate in Agile/Scrum events including sprint planning backlog refinement user acceptance testing sprint reviews design workshops and training sessions.
- Identify research and coordinate the resolution of complex technical issues affecting software and AI products.
- Plan or participate in the implementation of department-wide system upgrades.
- 5+ years of experience within the past 8 years performing senior level application support defined as independent diagnosis and resolution of complex issues acting as an escalation point and supporting application lifecycle activities such as user stories and backlog management.
- 3+ years of experience within the past 7 years supporting artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) products or solutions for the Government of Canada.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- A certificate diploma or degree in computer science or another relevant field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Currently residing in the Ottawa-Gatineau region and holding, or being eligible to obtain, a Government of Canada Reliability or Secret security clearance.
