About The Opportunity
A Public Sector client is seeking a Senior Materiel Management Specialist to provide hands-on operational support within a high-volume supply environment. This role is anchored in warehousing, materiel management, disposal activities, and client support. It is designed to maintain continuity of operations during a period of heightened staffing risk and to reinforce the organization's ability to support internal and external stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Receive deliveries, triage packages, and enter DRMIS transactions
- Operate material handling equipment including forklift, if certified to do so
- Operate material handling equipment including pallet jack
- Conduct disposal and transfer transactions, including serial number verification
- Assist in organizing hazardous waste pickups and general waste disposal
- Assist with GC Surplus activities, including item preparation, listing, and buyer coordination
- Maintain accurate inventory of loaned equipment
- Provide in-person and virtual client support for supply requests
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
The successful candidate will have the following
- 48 months experience in the materiel management field
- Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant work experience
- WHMIS certification (must be valid at the time of contract start)
- Hands-on experience in warehousing, inventory, or materiel management operations
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (must hold applicable certifications if operating a forklift)
- Experience working in environments involving hazardous waste handling and disposal workflows
- English Essential – Advanced oral, comprehension, and written proficiency
- Valid security clearance at a level of Secret Level II is required
